Erica Bateman




Dr. Erica Bateman has 20 years of coaching experience, holds PSA ratings in Moves in the Field and Freestyle, served as a U.S. Figure Skating Technical Specialist and has coached national and international competitors and is a Certified Personal Trainer.  After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in the Exercise Science/Figure Skating Science program, she moved to Southern California and completed a master’s degree in Kinesiology and doctorate in Education.  Dr. Bateman is a faculty member in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at La Sierra University in Riverside, CA and guest-coaches in numerous Southern California rinks.  Although she resides in Riverside, California, she offers Dartfish consultation sessions and seminars nationwide.  Currently, she is developing a sport-specific textbook and curriculum, is a contributing author of CER courses for the PSA and has published case studies for Dartfish.  She continues to research developing quantitative measurements of skating skill progression and assessing the effectiveness of off-ice conditioning programs in relationship to developing on-ice power.
