American Red Cross Online Training

PSA is excited to be able to offer an online first aid course for coaches through the American Red Cross. The safety of all skaters participating in figure skating is a priority of U.S. Figure Skating and PSA. The PSA wants to make it easy for coaches to learn how to prevent, prepare for and respond to skating-related emergencies and is implementing an online training program that will provide convenient, effective, affordable training for coaches at all levels of our sport.

To help promote safety and offer an effective way for coaches to meet that fundamental responsibility, the PSA has partnered with the American Red Cross of Central Indiana to provide First Aid for Coaches, a component of Sport Safety Training online.

First Aid for Coaches, a web-based course was developed jointly by the American Red Cross of Central Indiana and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). The course was designed to assist coaches, athletic trainers and other participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in various sports environments, as well as recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care. First Aid for Coaches meets first aid requirements for coaches and athletic trainers.

The course is four hours in length.

The cost of the course is $45.00.

The first aid certificate is valid for three (3) years.
