What does it mean to be compliant?


Per U.S. Figure Skating rule MR 5.11, all coaches and choreographers must complete the compliance requirements by July 1 of each year in order to coach at U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned activities.

  • All coaches will be required to complete the Professional Coach/Choreographer CER program
  • PSA membership is not required to access CER courses
  • One course must be completed from each of the following topic areas:
    • Rules of Sport (ROS)
    • Athlete/Coach Protection (ACP)
    • Professional Ethics (ETH)
    • Sport Science (SCI)

  • Available to current PSA Full and Associate members
  • Current liability insurance must have limits of $1 million per occurrence and $5 million aggregate

Sanctioned Activities

1. Qualifying and nonqualifying competitions, and test sessions

2. All performances including ice shows, exhibitions, recitals, and carnivals

3. International competitions on behalf of Team USA

4. Any other sanctioned club activities (including club ice)
